A cycle friendly town famous for it’s geothermal activity from boiling mud pools to huge geysers. Rotorua has some of the best mountain biking on the planet, ‘the best single track ever’ is what Gary Fisher had to say. Surrounded by forest we have 140km of purpose built single track on our doorstep, beautiful lakes to cycle to and spectacular rides through thermal areas.
We recommend 3-7 days in Rotorua, the cultural heart of New Zealand – but if you’re a mountain biker you had better make it a couple of weeks! We can arrange all your accommodation, transport and sightseeing requirements.
We are on site at Whakarewarewa Forest where the best trails start. First left off Highway 5 to Taupo after Whakarewarewa thermal area.

They provide you a gear cycle good for mounterring with a great map. The map is clear cut so no issues with tracking places in the forest. The forest is really very maintained. They have many difficulty levels of slopes. The best part is the downhill. Will surely visit again.

I had the pleasure to experience mountain biking in the redwoods during the 2016 Rotorua i-SITE famil thanks to these guys at planet bike! As an experienced mountain biker I rarely choose to use a guide or company but my bike was absolutely amazing as it was a brand spanking new model and felt very well looked after and my guide Harry is also worth a mention as he happily and skilfully tailored the trip to my wishes. It was the best possible way to get as much out of the bike park in a short period of time! Thanks heaps!

Head here to rent your bike to explore the forests. The people are so helpful, know bikes and tracks well and will *give* you a map (the competition will charge you $5 for the privilege). They have a coffee van, fantastic coffee. Fab bikes, set up for you. Highly recommended.
